| Well. Since this is a roleplaying site, I believe it is my duty to attend to this display and present to the assembled a hallowed story of considerable know amongst roleplayers, particularly those who participate in traditional pen-and-paper gaming. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the story of Old Man Henderson. Now, in the Cthulu Mythos, a fantastically horrifying cosmic design of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, there are perceived certain entities which exist beyond the conventions of our perceived normality and merciful ignorance. In these comfortably dark corners of the imagination that have yet to bear the terrifying reflections of light from themselves upon normal eyes, the Old Ones from beyond the stars are of a particular importance in this tale. All of this would be fine, if one were to accept the setting and impart the tale as if within it, but as it happens, this story is told not of the cosmic Old Ones, but of the cosmic Old Ones within the context of the pen-and-paper roleplaying game, Call of CthuluNow, I would chronicle the entirety of the story verbatim, but I think it's much better that I simply provide the links to the hence-written transcripts and allow you to peruse them yourselves. Enjoy the tale of how Old Man Henderson 'won' Call of Cthulu. Part 1Part 2 | |
